Meet the Founder
Hi! I’m Kourtney, the founder of Learnr.
I started my career the same way many other Human Resources people do, by accident. In fact, 17 years ago, I didn’t even know what human resources was. After graduating University, I applied into an open role and got it (to everyones surprise) and I went on to do everything backwards. I climbed the corporate ladder and learned all of my skills in real-life, pursuing formal HR education and certifications later. This experience gave me a very “common sense” approach to HR and it led to me forming very deep partnerships with Founder CEO’s and C-Suite Executives. I had figured out how not to be a barrier to the work they wanted to do.
Flash forward quite a few years, and I found myself on the total opposite end of the spectrum, becoming a Senior Strategic Partner at McMaster, a Director at the Library, and a Chief of People at a startup. I received my CHRL and became PROSCI, EQi, and Pay Equity Certified. I mirrored my love for barrier-less work with a deep appreciation and respect for the skills that come with formality and technical training.
What resulted as a person with a deep passion for problem solving and the real life experience and skills to see it over the finish line; and with that Learnr was born. Learnr has one primary goal - to help Canadian companies problem solve their people problems. The more complex, the better.
